Ever present in the eastern United States, they are usually 36 – 60 inches in length and, on average, 45 inches weighing 500 to 1,500 g. Crotalus oreganus, commonly known as the (northern) Pacific rattlesnake, is a venomous pit viper species found in western North America from the Baja California Peninsula to the southern interior of British Columbia.
