WebSep 3, 2009 · Great for Teaching. Some parents may find the book "violent" but it is definitely violence with a purpose. A parent or teacher should always look at the message behind the violence. If it is taught correctly, then your child will come out of the book actually advocating for less violence in current and to stop the glorifying of violence. WebAug 26, 2012 · Kae I don't have a problem with the first book in the Hunger Game series but the following two have content that is not appropriate for elementary students. However the parent should have the last say if the child truly wants to read it. I haven't added the first yet but probably will for 4th and 5th grade students.
